Performance

Titan models are equipped with a 390-horsepower engine that produces 394 lb.-ft. of torque. This 5.6-liter Endurance V8 is controlled by a smart seven-speed automatic. Exclusive to the Titan, Variable Valve Event and Lift uses hydraulic controls, electronic controls, and variable valve timing to regulate intake and throttle response. A Multi-Control Valve is used as a replacement for a traditional thermostat. Nissan's bumper-to-bumper coverage is considered America's Best Truck Warranty. It runs for five years or 100,000 miles. Architectural changes to the Titan improve its aerodynamics. Underbody covers, rear tire wind deflectors, and three spoilers help reduce wind resistance. An Active Grille Shutter recognizes when cooling isn't needed and closes the radiator opening to reduce drag. Pro-4X standards include the Nissan 4x4 drivetrain, Bilstein mono-tube off-road shocks, and hydraulic cab mounts. Hill Descent Control allows the Pro-4X to move slowly despite gravity's pull. These trail-blazers have an electronic locking rear differential and a unique Brake Limited-Slip Differential.

Interior

A redesign helped Nissan find more room in the cabin. Moving the shift lever provided room for a huge center console. Switches are grouped by function, and the placement was decided based on typical use patterns. The glove box handle was moved to the left where the driver can reach it better. Standard Zero Gravity seats are on both rows, providing support for long distance driving. Upholstery is offered in water-repellent fabrics or rich leathers. Two rows of heated seats are available along with ventilated front seats. Crew Cabs have locking, under-the-seat second-row storage. Drivers can fold the second row and use the integrated fold out to create a flat cargo hold. Noise and vibration treatments have been applied to the body and glass to reduce the road's rumble.

Features

NissanConnect mobile apps are now on every Titan. Standards include Bluetooth streaming audio and Hands-Free Text Messaging. Infotainment controls are offered as a five-inch color display, a more advanced seven-inch touch-screen, or a full navigation system with Nissan Voice Recognition. An available Rockford Fosgate system places 12 speakers throughout the cabin.

Safety

Nissan has expanded its safety offerings on the 2018 Titan. For the first time, it has a standard RearView Monitor. The menu offers a Blind Spot Warning and a Rear Cross Traffic Alert. For safer hook ups, a Trailer Light Check system eliminates the need for a second person when the driver is doing the necessary safety checks. Trailer Sway Control and an available Trailer Brake Controller help drivers tow more safely. To show the truck's perimeter, you can get an Intelligent Around View Monitor. Not only can it reveal obstacles, it has Moving Object Detection to spot trouble and warn the driver. SL trucks have four front and four rear parking sensors. These models also have proximity-activated puddle lamps for security.
